From Cairns follow the signs north towards Mossman and Port Douglas. Pass the northern beaches; Machans, Holloways, Trinity, Kewarra, Palm Cove and Ellis. After around 30 minutes you come to Hartley's Creek Crocodile Farm. From there we are 4.2 Kilometres further on the beach side of the road. Because the resort is a national park they cannot have signage on the road, so you can miss it. If you get to Thala Beach or Port Douglas, turn around and come back!!

OUR
COMMENTS:
News Years Eve of 2002 saw us blissfully lying in a hammock, on the pristine - and very private (clothes optional) - beach of the Turtle Cove Resort.

Turtle Cove Resort is an exclusively Lesbian & Gay resort, and whilst there tends to be a slightly higher ratio of males than  females holidaying at this incredible piece of Paradise - for us this in no way detracted from what can only be called "our awesome experience" .....

We planned to stay for one night, and ended up extending our time (each day!) until we had spent four days - four of the most relaxing, soul-pampering and comfortable days we spent during our entire four week  holiday.

The atmosphere was amazing, the scenery spectacular, and the Staff happy to assist with anything ones heart desired. Once we have saved enough to return for a minimum of four days we plan to do so - ASAP!
Truly truly an amazing piece of Paradise.

OUR COMMENTS:
Our stay at Witta Gums was a secret that my Partner had been researching for months, and her final choice was impeccable!
From the moment we drove down the tree-lined driveway of Witta Gums, to our cottage, sweetly named "SallyWattle", the atmosphere was already infinitely palpable.
Serenity and romance in abundance and the mountain views breathtaking....

Once we entered the actual cottage, I was truly lost for words.
Sallywattle Chalet is a split-level, open plan cottage, with the bathroom and bedroom both on the top level. The bathroom boasts a huge double spa, and the bedroom area has a wonderful iron bed, beautifully made up with crisp white sheets and a snuggly feather doona.

Both levels have polished wooden floors, except the bathroom which is tiled.
The bottom level of the Chalet has a combination lounge-kitchen-dining.
The TV stations were a little fuzzy - but we weren't there to enjoy the tele, so put the wonderful CD player to good use, while we created a feast fit for queens, on our balcony bbq, with the birds were bouncing around on the railings and table, hoping for a tasty morsel.

Witta Gums is the ideal place to get away from it all for some total peace and quiet and relaxation.
Bliss!

OUR COMMENTS:
We stayed at the Edmonston for the 2002 Pride Rally, March and Fair.
Whilst the rooms could be considered 'compact', by some folks standards, we both found that the Edmonston had all the facilities that we required, and then some!

The close proximity to the City Centre, South Bank, all forms of public transport and the fabulous range of Eateries, Cafes, Restaurants and Book Shops of West End, made it the perfect central point for our stay.

The Resident Owners were very helpful, obliging and truly 'gay friendly', and made us feel very comfortable and at home.
Definitely place we will be returning to when next in Brisbane.

OUR COMMENTS:
We haven't stayed at Porky, but figure that they deserve just a small rant and some ad space, for their efforts to find us some place to stay when we were tired and hungry and at the end of a long day, and they didn't have any rooms left.

The Owners of Porky were fabulously helpful, and found us a room, with air conditioning, with just one phone call, and headed us off happily in the right direction. Our hats off to the Crew at Porkys! ThankYou.
